Disney World Day 2

Last night Granny came over and brought dinner. Trenton was of course fussy because he slept 30 minutes at daycare yesterday. PRECIOUS! We had a nice visit with Granny and even Baxter got wrapped around Granny's heart. Granny and my 80 lb Baxter bonded over french fries and chicken...mmm. After Granny left, Trenton fought sleep, but finished 5 oz of his bottle and drifted off to sleep. Baxter and I put him in his crib and we too, drifted off to sleep...until my phone goes off.

Normally, I do not hear my phone, but I did this time and it was Wes. He had misplaced a gift card, so we had to buy dinner, not a big deal, but we did have to text about it for 10 minutes. This is around 9:30 and I am trying to stay awake so I can talk to my husband for the first time that day, but I don't make it to 10, and the cell phone didn't wake me up. SORRY WES!

Trenton, Baxter and I slept until 1:00AM when Trenton HAD to eat. He is getting to where he will soon find his thumb. He sucks his entire fist and sometimes puts his thumb in there but doesn't know where to put his other fingers...oh how i pray he won't find the thumb. Trenton took 5 oz at 1, slept until about 6 and took 6 oz! We called Daddy around 7:20 this morning and that is when my little man decided to cry, but not before I got precious photos!

Sorry they are dark, but here is precious in his outfit that Deann gave him! TOO CUTE! It is monogrammed on the onesie and the jacket!

Today he is picked up by Nameless and Sir and hopefully soon we will get to Nashville where it is SNOWING! I hope Ansley and Beaty stay warm! Daddy comes home tomorrow!

Disney World!

So, Daddy is in Disney World the rest of this week for his company meeting. I am playing Mom and Dad this week, which for the first night went really well. Trenton got home yesterday, took a bath, ate, and slept from 7:30-1:00AM! Mommy was very happy. Then he slept from 1:30-5:45AM! Trenton is starting to LOVE bath time, but more than bath time, he loves his towel time. He has a doggie on his head..so cute!
I didn't get to talk to Wes because I was asleep, but I did get texts from him saying that last night, while at the meeting, they let them loose in Hollywood Studios. Wes got to ride on some of the rides, Tower of Terror and Toy Story were the rides mentioned to me. He bought his son an outfit, of course! But he seems to be enjoying the trip. I am going to go ahead and admit that although Wes and I are not huge Disney fans, we do plan on taking Trenton. It is a right of passage. However, we will not be going every year.

One thing I truly loved about my childhood (although I don't remember every trip) was going to a different state every year. Who doesn't want to go to Hershey, PA and Sedona, AZ? I want Trenton to see a lot of the US, so while we will venture to Orlando once, we will not make it a yearly trip.

This morning, Trenton was in a surprisingly good mood. So, we had a touch of a photo shoot...I wish I could say the same thing for the dog. :) Baxter is so neglected, not in a bad way, but he was just SUPER spoiled before Trenton's arrival. We had a mini photo shoot with him, but he protested. Here is Trenton looking more and more like my Dad, but with hints of his own personality and features shining through.

Tonight Great-Granny comes and visits and brings us dinner from Chick-fil-a..yummy!

Trenton's Doctor Visit

Yesterday was probably one of the most traumatic days for a Mom. Yes, Trenton has been through a lot, but while I know it was not easy for him, I was not a first hand witness of his surgery, so this was definitely the worst I have experienced since being released from the NICU....

Trenton got FIVE shots yesterday! He took it like such a champ...right before the shots, I was feeding him....>

He has just finished 5 oz here and was drifting off to sleep....so peaceful.

Then, the nurse comes in with all 5 shots and one oral vaccine. We do oral medicine 2 times a day, so we are ready for that...take it like a champ. I have to give the nurse credit, she knocked those shots out really fast...shot 1, he looked fine, no tears. Shot 2, face turns BRIGHT red. Shot 3, we start screaming. shot 4 (another leg) we are in full on tear fit! Shot 5, done...whew! So, I did really well and didn't cry...Trenton cried, but only for about 2 minutes. Here is Trenton after shots...

Trenton has definitely discovered his hands and is into self soothing, which is great, but his hand was not quite doing the trick after the shots. However, once we got home, he didn't cry and just kicked and smiled! How I love this boy! My sister says in this picture he looks a lot like me. I am not sure how I feel about this.

That was Trenton's BIG day of shots...we go again March 30th!

Aunt Dr., Aunt Bee, Uncle JP VISIT!

So, this weekend was a pretty eventful one for precious little Trenton. Friday night, I ended up leaving work later than normal, but I make it home and Wes has to immediately leave because his door won't lock at work. Why this is a problem since they are glass doors and he was just robbed, I mean I understand, but not really. :) So, he goes to meet the locksmith. I stay with Trenton and cook dinner. After we eat, Trenton does and then he goes to bed...simple night.

Saturday, Aunt Dr. comes into town. I call her this because she is my friend, Katy Falk, who is about to graduate from optometry school in May. So, she will be my Dr. friend. Well, she calls me after she runs on the Battery in Charleston, rough life, and says her GPS puts her in NA around 2:50ish. Great! So, I am watching TV and waiting. Meanwhile, Wes takes Trenton to the shop to see Uncle Brian and Wayne. Trenton is such a good boy, but they don't crank the engine because Trenton doesn't have baby earplugs. :) So, Wes is sure to be home by 3 so he can be there when Falk arrives. They get home and I get a call from Falk - "um, I didn't want you to be worried but I probably won't be there until 3:30....this is typical Falk, no offense....I hit a turkey!" I am sorry, what?!? I thought she was driving on the interstate, so I had no idea why there would be a turkey. No, my friend decided to take back roads and she hit a turkey! She said she and the car are fine, but there was a feather in her windshield that was a constant reminder of the life she prematurely took. What is so ironic about this is her boyfriend is quite the hunter...so, she calls him and asks how many he shot because she got a turkey. Well, he wasn't hunting those, but still. So, I decide I will have to go get Falk some wine to help her after her traumatic experience. So, I do. Keep in mind, I do not drink wine...I don't like it, I know nothing about it, but I figure there can't be too many options, so I hit the road to Publix.

Nobody told me the wine aisle had about 500 bottles on it! Why does it have to be so difficult? I mean, there is some serious competition out there. Falk told me to buy chianti...okay, that is direction..how long could this take? So, the first wine I come to is in a box..no, that isn't what I want. Next I see Arbor Mist. I remember way back in college Falk drinking this, but surely, she has moved on to something better. So, I keep looking...next bottle, about a gallon of wine...not what I want either. So, I just start looking for names that sound yummy. No clue. I text my friend, Bee, who texts me back Sunday - little late. Publix has an amazing system that helps you understand what type of wines go with what food. I know we are having chicken, I can do this! However, I was reading about white wines for the first 20 minutes on the wine aisle! FINALLY! I find something, reasonably priced and I go with it. WHEW!

I get home after running into half of North Augusta and forgetting 3 things on my list and FALK is there! YAY! Trenton is dead asleep..sleeps through Baxter barking at Falk, me coming home and screaming when I see Falk, everything. So we chat a while and Trenton wakes up...FALK is such a good MOM! I seriously learned so much from watching her. AMAZING. Trenton LOVES her..he calms down with her and everything. The only thing on which Falk needs to improve is she lets him fall asleep while he eats and she gets engrossed in conversation and then we have to wake him up, but she was such a natural! She feeds him at 9:30 and we put him to bed...along with my husband, and stay up and chat about life..we haven't seen each other since Bee's wedding...GREAT night..

SUNDAY ~ Um, Falk sleeps in until 10...we went to bed at midnight and she wakes up and says "I didn't mean to sleep 10 hours...morning!" I was so glad to let her sleep in. Wes and I slept in until 8 for me and 9 for him! WOW! So, Bee and JP are coming from a wedding in Cola. Originally they were getting there between 12 and 1, but around 3 they arrive..I haven't seen them since their wedding in June either! CRAZY! So great to see them and get to catch up. Trenton loved meeting his Aunt Bee (not from Andy Griffith) and Uncle JP. Bee didn't give herself credit, but she was also a great Mom! She got to feed him part of the bottle and Uncle JP finished if off. They stayed and we talked for a while until the weather and family came and they decided to hit the road! I am so ready to have a reunion where we all can make it there...friends are great to have around..and I miss these girls SO MUCH!

I have to say, I had such an amazing time seeing them and catching up. To the point that Bee and I talked after she was on the road to ATL. I hope they can come back soon! Tonight I hope to post pictures of Trenton with his DIVAS! I LOVE these girls and hope soon Aunt LeeLee and Wally, Aunt Becker and Russ can visit!

on a side note..Please start praying for my sanity as Wes leaves for Orlando (for work) on Wednesday and doesn't come back until Saturday...uh oh! Nameless is picking Trenton up from daycare on Friday and helping to keep him until Wes gets home on Saturday (I have class).

Trenton & Sir

Yesterday, Sir (my father) kept Trenton. Apparently they had a pretty uneventful day. Trenton ate and slept (a little). Sir taught Trenton math (addition and multiplication). I do ask for help though because Sir tells me that Trenton is having trouble learning his addition and mulitplication with zeros. I mean really, that should come naturally if the others are coming to him. They also had 2 visitors, Edward, Dad's friend came over to play and then Granny came to bring us dinner from her neighbor Sally! I know Dad LOVED spending time with Trenton and I am sure there are more stories, but they are keeping them between the two of them. :)

Back to School

Today Trenton is back to school....I have learned since the first few times we went to dress him somewhat lightly and bundle him on the way to the car! I even made a list for daddy so he won't forget anything when he picks him up. :) Here is Trenton on his way to school today..sorry it is dark, he fell asleep and I didn't want to turn on all the lights.
