Size 1

So, remember when I was pregnant, before we knew of Trenton's TE Fistula and the doctors would ALL comment on how BIG my baby was going to be? Yeah, I was bracing for an 11 pound baby. Wes's family has big babies and my sister was the big baby one in our family (in all fairness, I was induced). For those of you that saw me when I was pregnant, I was HUGE! I gained 25lbs, but because of Trenton's TE Fistula, all the amniotic fluid was just there...I was swollen from head to toe....ANYWAY...

Flash forward to my delivery day...here comes by supposedly HUGE baby...all 7lbs, 1 oz of him!
So, as we all know, Trenton was in the NICU for 18 days and there his weight went WAY up (swelling from surgery) then back down. The NICU even told us that if he lost any more weight we would be back in for an NG tube getting put back. However, once at home, he ate pretty well.

Now, my child is not a consistent eater. Sometimes he wants 4 oz, sometimes 8...you just let him eat until he stops. My child is very dramatic too, so you know when he wants to stop.

Clearly, I went into mommyhood thinking I would have the big kid. I am not skinny, Wes is not skinny and we do not come from the sveltest of families. So, today when I go to daycare, I was SHOCKED to learn something....

I was putting Trenton in a swing next to one of his FAVORITE workers and she said that another child's mom donated some size 1 diapers that don't fit her child anymore and would I mind if they used them on Trenton? So, I was like, that is fine (of COURSE! Save me money!), but I said use them on other babies too, not just Trenton. This is the response, "Trenton is our only size 1 baby right now!!!!" REALLY! He isn't the youngest, but clearly he is the smallest. SO for all those people who mocked my baby for being big, no such luck! My baby has the smallest fanny of them all!

results of the dna test pending....:)

  1. Small fanny?! What in the world? If he didn't look so much like Dad, I'd think you left with the wrong child. I hope my child also has a small fanny, but I'll likely have the husky daughter. But, I'll love her like Mom loved me! :)
