Baxter greets Trenton (by licking his feet, hands, arms, anything he can get to before we pop his nose). Trenton sits in his kicking chair and just plays while Baxter hovers over him. Now, if Trenton does not pay Baxter attention, Baxter barks. Well, the other day, Baxter decided he would just bring Trenton the toy he wanted to play with. So, as I am sitting there talking with Trenton, Baxter brings the rawhide. He drops the rawhide in Trenton's lap and just looks at me with those "why isn't he doing what I want eyes". I tried to explain to Baxter that Trenton did not understand the game of fetch. Baxter wasn't having that, so I threw the rawhide and Baxter went to get it; however, he brought it back to Trenton to throw again. SO, I am not sure if Baxter has figured out that I will pay him more attention if he bothers Trenton OR if Baxter just wants Trenton to be a part of play time too.
Another Trenton and Baxter story...ever since Trenton was born he has followed B with his eyes....when we eat, he follows B, when we play, when we are taking a bath. Well, now Trenton is reaching and grabbing and during floor time he reached for Baxter's big dog mouth and pulled. I was SHOCKED! I didn't know what to do, but I quickly learned that Baxter would take care of it. He looked at me (once he was freed from Trenton's death grip) and just licked Trenton's hands as if to tell him no and walked away. Maybe I should take parenting advice from the dog.

Interestingly enough, I had no idea Ansley had blogged about Beaty today. I guess that is one of those sister things. B and Trenton are going to grow up as buddies and I know they will have many fun times..especially once Trenton starts eating solids and throws them on the floor!
Trenton also discovered his hands recently. He finally put it all together that he has them and they are useful. It was so precious to watch him discover one side, then the other. He also is in love with his feet. Most mornings when I go to get him, his foot is JAMMED down is throat. I walk in there and he just laughs. I love that precious little man.
I promised you all pictures and they shall come, but it will be a little bit. Life is hectic, but ya'll know that.
How wonderful to see this developing friendship! I only hope that we will be as lucky with Rocky as y'all have be been with Baxter. You have quite a pair there!
