Wes and I rarely play the lottery...well, I rarely play the lottery, but Wes...a little more. Anyway, last Wednesday I decided I wanted a scratch off, so Wes went to the store and bought some tickets. We spent $40 that time, but we won $25. We didn't break even, but he cashed in the tickets and bought another $10 ticket. On that $10 ticket he won $100. He called and we were excited. Well, he went again and bought another $10 ticket. I never heard from him, so I figured it was nothing. That day, Thursday, we were meeting for lunch and he brings Heather the ticket and tells her to show it to me. She does and we had won $500!!!! I could not believe it! Even funnier is when Wes pulled up I was talking to Debra and asked why he was here. He was 30 minutes early for our lunch date. Well, she said "Maybe he is bringing you money". My response, "Yeah right!"Clearly, I had to eat my words.
All in all, we won about $600. Well, knowing when to stop, we decided no more. However, that seemed to change come Saturday morning. Wes went to the store and just bought one more and won another $100!
I am telling you, we are done! We can't continue this much longer.
So, like those shows, the lottery changed my life in the following ways...
the taxes on my car were due this month, one less headache
i could shop this weekend without using my debit card AND still have money left
grocery shopping didn't hurt my feelings as much (wouldn't you know I had more coupons this week than any other!)
I would love to tell you that we won the BIG jackpot, but if we EVER did that, I would remain anonymous! So, we are done with our lottery winnings for a while, but it was nice to say the lottery changed our lives!
