Sara's Accident

This week, taking the cats out, clearly was not the right move. Yesterday I got into a little fender bender. I call it little because it was!!!!!

Here is how it happened...

I was leaving work (late, of course, again!) and driving towards the interstate. I was turning right at the light at Robert C Daniel. There was NO traffic coming, so the car in front me started going...I looked to the right and started going too...OOPS, the driver in front of me decided to slam on brakes and stop! REALLY! So, I am talking to my mom and get REALLY mad! I just ran into the back of someone! I hang up. She says she is on the way! I convince her to move the cars into the Starbucks parking lot. She agrees.

I ask her if she is okay and she says she is fine. We get out of the car and I survey the damage...I really can't find any. My car is absolutely okay...I TAPPED her.

Here is how it gets interesting...
we pull into the parking lot. I call Wes, who I later learn was FURIOUS when he hung up the phone. I was not hurt, everybody was fine, but he was thinking it was a total wreck!

We get out fo the cars and I say, "Have you called anybody?" No. "Should we?" **Looking at the damage, there is NONE! she has a scratch like this (-) on her car. I have dirt from her dirty bumper. Her response, "You never know how bad the damage is underneath the car." REALLY!

We start talking...Of course I learn all about her life and everything. I also learn she has been in 6 accidents, hit from behind...hmmm...I see a pattern. She also tells me that it took 3 days after the last incident to feel the whiplash. REALLY!?! This is the girl I hit. GREAT!

Well, I call my mom and tell her we are fine, don't come. Of course, she has sent Dad. Dad is roaming around looking for us.

Meantime, the cop arrives...he looks PISSED that we interrupted his day for this incident. Me, being the perpetual smart butt says "probably not the worst you have seen". He grins, kind of. "No, this isn't that bad."

So, we give the information. He starts writing. We write up our versions of what happened...here is mine. "She started to go right, traffic was clear, I was looking right and started to go..meantime, she had slammed on breaks, I tapped her." Yes, TAP was the verb...there was no hit. IT was a TAP!

While I sit there, dad shows up. Neat...next Mom...hi, lady I hit..this is my family. The cop is probably thinking, what in the world! Oh, here comes my husband to get the car seat....

Family Reunion. Cop leaves, no citations. Lady leaves...nothing big. My dad and mom are both like, are you kidding me!

Wes comes and doesn't speak, grabs the carseat and is GRINNING while he walks away. He too knows the ridiculousness of this incident.

Later that night I talk to Wes and he is more angry that the lady made it such a big deal. I cannot wait to see what all she claims. I am sure it will be more dramatic.

**** SIDE NOTE ****
Trenton SNEEZED BIG this morning and for 3 minutes, he did not sound like a cat when he breathed!!!!!

Also, on the way to school he spit up ALL over himself and the carseat. We changed and moved on with our day, but I am hoping today will be a better day than yesterday!
